Why should people visit Drøbak?
– Many people come to visit the Christmas town of Drøbak because it is so beautiful. Drøbak is also very cosy and not fussy. In addition, we have many nice little shops, which are not found anywhere else. Especially women’s shops. And that is what is the inner fillet here in Drøbak – that it is completely free of chain stores and typical tourist shops. It feels real!
Visitors get the feeling of an old-fashioned Christmas – we still write all receipts by hand! It takes many back to their childhood.

In addition, we have plenty of eateries serving food from all over the world! You get kind of living in Drøbak, it’s like being on holiday all year round!

What experiences in Drøbak and Frogn give you the Christmas spirit?
– When the winter lights are lit in the streets of Drøbak city centre – then I get a real Christmas mood.
“For me, Christmas isn’t about trends, it’s about tradition. The good old-fashioned Christmas we have here in Norway is something we must try to preserve. It’s completely unique. When I stand behind the counter at The Christmas House and listen to the visitors talk about Christmas and the memories they have, or when I open all the Christmas letters sent to Santa’s Post Office, I get a good feeling inside. You can’t sell Christmas spirit online, it’s a feeling!
