Over the past 200 years, many famous artists have called Drøbak their home. And it is perhaps not so strange with our location, views, our climate and the proximity to Oslo.
Idyllic Drøbak is also one of the few cities in Norway that there is actually plenty to do on Sundays, so much so that Drøbak has been nicknamed “Sunday City”. Here, the galleries, cafés and shops are open on Sundays, all year round.

Throughout the ages, Drøbak has charmed artists, bohemians and writers, including Hans Gude, Oda and Christian Krogh and Knut Hamsun. As an artist city, Drøbak has several galleries.
